FUNCTIONAL ACTIVES
We have selected highly effective active ingredients for this shampoo that act as natural “cleansers.” While the minerals found in hard water tend to build up on the hair, leaving it stiff and dull, these ingredients work to dissolve them and restore the hair’s natural beauty and lightness. As a result, the hair becomes more receptive to styling and targeted treatments (such as hydrating and repairing treatments). Additionally, conditioning, antioxidant, illuminating, and strengthening extracts enhance the performance of a product designed to cleanse, while delivering multiple additional benefits.
Let’s take a look at the active ingredients:
ORGANIC VINEGAR EXTRACT: a pH-balancing ingredient. Thanks to its natural acidity, it helps dissolve limescale buildup and smooths the hair cuticles lifted by mineral deposits. It enhances shine, leaving the hair instantly softer to the touch and less prone to tangling.
RICE BIOFERMENT: a repairing active ingredient. It delivers inositol and amino acids that help fill in the “gaps” caused by the erosive action of hard water. Hair appears stronger and more elastic, with improved resistance to breakage and enhanced shine.
ORGANIC HIBISCUS: an antioxidant and detangling active. Rich in fruit acids, it helps remove mineral and metal residues. It revives color and makes hair noticeably easier to comb, while also providing strengthening and shine-enhancing benefits.
CITRUS & CARROT (ACE): naturally chelating extracts, rich in antioxidant vitamins. Citric acid (from lemon and orange) helps bind and remove mineral deposits, while carrot provides strengthening Vitamin A. This combination helps maintain the hair’s natural hydration, leaving it softer and more elastic. The result: lightweight, radiant hair protected against oxidative stress.
RED ALGAE: a natural active rich in carrageenan, known for its high hydrating properties thanks to its polysaccharide content. It also has film-forming benefits, creating an invisible layer that coats and protects the hair. It acts as a barrier against dehydration, strengthens the hair structure, and enhances silkiness.

How to use
The Clarifying Shampoo can be used in four ways:
1. “Reset” Wash: removes buildup from styling products, silicones, and pollution that weigh the hair down.
2. “Prepping” Wash (Pre-Treatment): deeply cleanses the hair, allowing masks, color treatments, or henna to penetrate better and perform at their best.
3. “Anti-Mineral” Wash (Hard Water/Swimming Pool): eliminates limescale, chlorine, and metal deposits that leave hair dry, straw-like, and dull.
4. “Oil-Removing” Wash (Post-Treatment): ideal for effectively removing oil treatments (such as coconut or flaxseed oil) that regular shampoos may struggle to wash away.
Recommended Frequency (indicative): results may vary depending on how your hair responds. Other factors also play an important role, such as hair thickness and density, as well as environmental exposure to substances that can build up on the hair. The cosmetic products you use also make a difference, especially if they are rich in microplastics, oils, or butters.
– Oily hair / or hair exposed to very hard water:
Use twice a week. Fruit acids and vinegar help control excess sebum and mineral buildup without over-stripping the scalp.
– Normal hair (low porosity) / soft water:
Use once a week. Ideal for those without an oily scalp and whose hair stays clean for several days, or when using soft water.
– Dry / Colored / Treated hair (high porosity):
Use once a week, as high-porosity hair is more prone to buildup. The acidic formula also helps rebalance the pH and seal the cuticles, providing significant benefits for this hair type.
The type of water you use is the key factor that determines which of the two products should take the lead in your routine.
With soft water: your ideal shampoo should be 90% a low-poo shampoo (Curly Beauty, Lion’s Mane, etc.).
With hard water: your ideal shampoo should be 90% a Hard Water Shampoo. In fact, if you rely only on low-poo shampoos with hard water, your hair may become dull and heavy due to mineral buildup. You may also struggle to achieve a truly clean scalp, as gentle surfactants are often less effective in hard water. Sulfate-free shampoos can react with limescale, creating a residue known as “soap scum,” which can leave the hair feeling sticky rather than clean.
