It can be used in different ways:
Do you want defined and soft hair? Hate the cast? Your technique should involve applying the product to dripping wet hair while scrunching, possibly adding water directly with your hands and bending over, ensuring even distribution in each section.
For thick or medium hair, it’s helpful to divide it into sections, especially if you have high density (lots of hair). If you love extreme definition, you can use a styling brush at this stage before drying your hair.
For fine hair with low density, it’s best not to over-handle it. Use the praying hands and raking techniques to distribute the product: for praying hands, spread the gel over your entire hair and roots, from the scalp to the ends; for raking, use your fingers like a wide-toothed comb. Do a little scrunching, then proceed to microplopping and drying with a diffuser on medium heat.
If you want super hold and love the cast, just apply a bit more product to towel-dried hair, or add some during mid-dry. The gel-mousse-gel technique is also effective but may not be suitable for all hair types. If your hair is very fine, we don’t recommend doing too many styling steps.
Another method not to overlook is the LOC method for styling, especially if your hair ranges from medium to thick. This involves using gel, oil (like the Multi Oil from the Curly HCR line), and leave-in cream. This is more suitable for medium to thick hair; for fine hair, it might be too much.
YOUR QUESTIONS:
Is it a gel that works only on curls? The answer is no; it works for all hair types, but the application techniques will vary. For straight hair, I recommend using it before the leave-in conditioner on wet hair.
