If you truly don’t know where to start, here are a few simple tips to help you better understand how to build your hair care routine.
Have you always just used shampoo + conditioner? Let’s try to take it step by step, with more insights to come, without overwhelming you or making things complicated. No fearmongering, we promise :)
STEP ONE: WHAT TYPE OF HAIR DO I HAVE?
- DRY
- NORMAL
- OILY
If your hair is dry, the first thing to add is a leave-in conditioner and an acidic rinse/heat protectant to your routine. For example:
-VOLUME BOOSTER – if you want more volume and sun protection
-MY BEST OPTION – if you’re looking to strengthen your hair, especially if it’s chemically treated or medium to thick
-FORCE 7 SEA MASK, CONDITIONER & LEAVE-IN CREAM – a strengthening treatment with proteins, marine actives and bioferments
-FLAXSEED LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER – wonderful for wavy and curly hair
-GLOSSY LAMINATING LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER – great for all hair types, adds deep hydration and seals the cuticles
-GREEN NECTAR – the perfect acidic rinse for areas with hard water; the most acidic one we have :)
-POWER WATER – the ultimate acidic rinse for curly and coily hair, especially for dryness
-LADY SHINE – ideal to add moisture and a touch of definition, also great if you want to introduce some protein to your routine
Also, we recommend alternating your low-poo shampoo (our SOLID SHAMPOOS, CURLY BEAUTY, LION’S MANE, RECOVERY CREAMWASH, CHELATING SHAMPOO, and LAMINATING SHAMPOO are all sulfate-free, low-poo) with SOFTWASH, our surfactant-free alternative cleansing cream.
This will help reduce stress on the lengths while gently caring for the scalp — and yes, everything starts there, with your scalp ❤️
If your hair is normal, it means it’s shiny, doesn’t frizz, split, tangle, or get greasy quickly… It’s healthy and beautiful!
But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t need care: a gentle shampoo (see above), a good conditioner, a heat protectant, and light styling products are all you need to start off right.
How do I choose the right conditioner?
-WONDER – our most loved, protein-rich, ideal for fine and stressed hair
-EVOLUTION – ultra-hydrating, great for all hair types
-GLOSSY LAMINATING CONDITIONER – for extra shine and sealed cuticles
-WIN THE WAR – a simple, effective conditioner perfect for any hair type
If you need a protein boost, you can also use instead of a regular conditioner:
-TASK FORCE – ideal for fine hair
-SPACE SHIELD – perfect for medium to thick hair
To be honest, I sometimes use leave-in conditioners and masks as regular conditioners — just apply them and detangle with a brush. I love how they work!
If your hair is oily, it means your scalp is producing excess sebum. This can be due to many reasons.
The key is to wash the scalp thoroughly (check out our DETOX line), without using aggressive or drying ingredients.
Using a balancing treatment, like our prebiotic gels, helps restore a healthy balance over time.
We recommend:
-EXFOLIATING GEL MASK – apply five minutes before shampooing
-CHELATING SHAMPOO – useful when there’s buildup from products (conditioners, masks that don’t rinse out completely), environmental factors (smog, hard water), or excess oil
-CHELATING ACID MASK – detangles, seals the cuticles, and leaves hair light and shiny
Also remember to use light styling products, and choose a leave-in like GLOSSY CURL ACTIVATOR instead of heavier creams
To rebalance the scalp, you can apply a prebiotic gel before styling products:
-BLUE MAGIC – gives volume and hydration to the roots and scalp (also great on lengths)
-GREEN BOOST – adds hydration and body from the roots
-NEVER GIVE UP – an anti-hair loss prebiotic gel that stimulates regrowth and strengthens the follicles
